Subject: | Uniform Schedule for SNAP Benefits |
Currently, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are distributed at the county level, and not in a uniform way across the state. This can impact people who move from one county to another, leaving gaps in benefits. As such, I will be introducing legislation that would modernize the system by requiring benefits be distributed according to a single schedule across the entire state. Under this proposal, benefits would be distributed over a 20-day period. The state and all of our communities will benefit from reorganizing SNAP distribution to be regular and predictable. Please join me in supporting this legislation which would organize and simplify SNAP benefits. |
