Subject: Lance Corporal Michael P. Segich Memorial Bridge
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation to honor the service and sacrifice of Lance Corporal Michael P. Segich.

On May 12, 1970, in the Quang Nam Province in Vietnam, Lance Corporal Segich and another Marine member of the team left the ambush site at about midnight as a two-man “killer team.” They had gone a short distance when they heard movement and started to investigate. Lance Corporal Segich was in the lead at the time when the other Marine accidentally discharged his M-16 rifle, killing Lance Corporal Segich.

In commemoration of Lance Corporal Segich’s service and memory, we will be introducing legislation to designate the bridge carrying State Route 3049 over the Moshannon Creek in Rush Township, Centre County, as the Lance Corporal Michael P. Segich Memorial Bridge.

Please join us in cosponsoring this legislation to honor Lance Corporal Segich and memorialize his service and sacrifice.
