Subject: Supporting UPS Teamsters Right to a Fair Employment Deal

On July 31, 2023, the present collective bargaining agreement between the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and UPS will expire. Currently, Teamsters and UPS are contentiously negotiating a new agreement. The UPS Teamsters have requested better pay and more full-time job positions for employees. If a successive agreement that satisfies the needs of employees cannot be reached before the current bargaining agreement expires, then the Teamsters have stated their intent to call for a strike.

Due to ongoing negotiations, I will be introducing a resolution that would encourage governing bodies to withdraw themselves from negotiations between UPS and the Teamsters. This would allow the two parties to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement free from the pressure of government intervention.

UPS Teamsters are individuals who worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic providing essential services in the most uncertain of times. As it is now time for a new collective bargaining agreement, it is imperative these workers receive a fair deal from their employer.

Please join me in supporting our UPS Teamsters and their right to a fair employment deal.
