As Americans gather together with friends and family to celebrate the holiday season, we must remember to hold a place in our hearts for the veterans and service members who are no longer with us. Many homes will have an empty seat at the table this season surrounded by family members who will never forget the love and laughter of those they lost. Each December, thousands of volunteers work tirelessly to place more than two million remembrance wreaths upon the graves of deceased veterans and members of the Armed Forces of the United States on Wreaths Across America Day. Over the past three decades, this moving tradition has grown from its origination at Arlington National Cemetery and is now recognized at more than 3,000 locations nationwide. To honor all of our fallen heroes, I am introducing a resolution designating December 17, 2022, as Wreaths Across America Day in Pennsylvania. This is a solemn occasion to reflect on the incalculable contributions and sacrifices of all military service members, veterans, and their families. Please join me in supporting this resolution designating December 17, 2022, as Wreaths Across America Day in Pennsylvania. |
