Subject: Staffing Flexibility for Pennsylvania’s Licensed Addiction Treatment Programs
 
In the near future, we will be introducing legislation to address the increasing need for staffing flexibility for Pennsylvania’s Licensed Addiction Treatment Programs. 
 
Addiction treatment providers have always faced staffing challenges, however the pandemic has led to a critical shortage of staff. This legislation would allow staffing flexibility to enable these programs to continue to operate with the levels of service and treatment needed, while also providing an opportunity to expand their workforce.
 
The General Assembly has addressed many challenges needed to combat the growing addiction crisis, and increasing flexibility and opportunity for staffing at these treatment facilities will add yet another valuable tool in the fight against substance abuse.
