INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,

A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of May 17 through 23, 2015, as "CPA Week of
Service" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Volunteerism has an enormous impact on the well-
being of Pennsylvania's communities by giving back and helping
others, delivering critical services, keeping our neighborhoods
and parks clean and safe and educating citizens; and
WHEREAS, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) offer services
that improve the fiscal health and well-being of the people of
this Commonwealth and various not-for-profit organizations
throughout this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, CPAs throughout this Commonwealth volunteer their
time and energy to educate individuals, from children to
seniors, on the importance of financial literacy and responsible
financial planning; and

WHEREAS, CPAs also volunteer their time and energy year-round
to help their communities and the causes important to them; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs has challenged
its CPA members to rally together from May 17 through 23, 2015,
in a united front dedicated to volunteering across Pennsylvania;
and
WHEREAS, This endeavor is worthy of support and cooperation
for the benefit of the residents and this Commonwealth;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate May 17
through 23, 2015, as "CPA Week of Service" in Pennsylvania.
