AN ACT
Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in service and facilities, providing
for standards for certain local exchange telecommunications
companies.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 66 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
ยง 1504.1. Standards for certain local exchange
telecommunications companies.
A local exchange telecommunications company as defined in
section 3012 (relating to definitions) that has a formal
complaint before the commission regarding the company's service
or facilities shall provide the commission and the General
Assembly with a report of all poles, wires and related
facilities that are failing or at risk of failing within 365
days after the date of initial hearing on the complaint. The
report shall include a list specifying the broken poles, the

lines or poles secured by rope, zip ties or other improvised
fasteners, the status of remote batteries, the utilization of
trees for securing wires and the wires currently less than three
feet in height above ground level.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
