AN ACT
Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in licensing of drivers, further providing for
persons ineligible for licensing, license issuance to minors
and junior driver's license and for learners' permits.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Sections 1503(c) introductory paragraph and
1505(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is
amended to read:
§ 1503. Persons ineligible for licensing; license issuance to
minors; junior driver's license.

(c) Junior driver's license.--The department may issue a
junior driver's license to a person 15, 16 or 17 years of age
under rules and regulations adopted by the department and
subject to the provisions of this section. A junior driver's
license shall automatically become a regular driver's license
when the junior driver attains 18 years of age.

§ 1505. Learners' permits.
(a) General rule.--A person 15 years or older who desires to
obtain a driver's license or who desires to be licensed in a
class for which the person is not already licensed shall apply
to the department for the class or classes of license in which
the person desires to be licensed. The department shall issue to
each applicant a learner's permit which shall clearly identify
the class of license applied for as provided in section 1504
(relating to classes of licenses).

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
